Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats: What is metadata?

Hello community,

My game was rejected review with the following message:

Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats
Your metadata appears to contain third-party content. Specifically, [game name].

I'm here to ask you what is "metadata"? Is this message related to:
1) the data showed on the App Store page (e.g. Screenshots, Description, Search Keys)
2) or to the data inside the game (e.g. UI, assets, music, etc..)

Thank you for help!

"Metadata" can refer to both contexts you mentioned, but in the context of app development and the App Store, it usually refers to the first option:

App Store Metadata: This includes the data shown on the App Store page, such as: Screenshots: Images of the app in use. Description: The text explaining what the app does. Search Keys: Keywords used to help users find the app through search. When submitting or updating an app on the App Store, developers need to provide this metadata to ensure the app is properly categorized and discoverable.

In the second context:

In-Game Metadata: This refers to data within the game itself, like UI elements, assets, music files, and other internal resources. This is usually not what is referred to when discussing "metadata" in relation to the App Store.
