iOS 14.6 - iPhone 11 - Carrier is Straight Talk, but I believe my phone uses Verizon towers. I have an unlimited plan that is reduced after a certain amount of data is used. LTE is present in the top right.
The Problem: I am unable to load anything using mobile data. I can send texts, occasionally send and receive pictures/videos, and make calls. My apps will not work. The will show something along the lines of “Cannot Refresh Feed” (Instagram), I’ll see posts on social media that have been from several days prior and cannot refresh it, streaming apps like YouTube will just buffer and don’t give me the option to click anything. Games are iffy.
Duration of Problem: Almost a week now. I have had this issue once prior, about a year ago. It started working correctly after about a month.
What I Have Tried to Remedy the Problem:
- Putting phone in airplane mode and restarting the phone.
- Ensuring that apps are allowed to use cellular data.
- Swapping data roaming from off to on, and vice versa.
- Clearing out unneeded apps, photos, etc.
- Puppy powering down the phone and waiting for a few minutes before turning it back in.
- Ensured phone was updated to the most recent version.
- Reset Network Settings
- Ensured phone plan was active
I do NOT use a personal hotspot. I have not moved and have used the same provider in my area for about 8 years now with minimal issues. I am not connected to a VPN.
I’m at a loss here. I spend more time at work than I do at home and need to be able to have my phone go to other apps and such while I am away. Is there anything else I can do here?
