Our app let's the user know if an update is available in the app store. We do this by checking the version number at "https://itunes.apple.com/lookup?bundleId=%5C(bundleId)". This has worked in the past, but after releasing a new version today, it is returning the old version number. However, I've noticed if I enter that url in my web browser, I get the updated version number. I also tried in Postman and received the wrong version number. I believe this has to do with the User-Agent sent up in the request. I copied my browser's User-Agent in to Postman and got the correct version returned. Is this to be expected? Will the version number update for the User-Agent sent up by an iPhone? If not, should I try to spoof the iPhone's User-Agent or is there a better solution?
