Many have reported the same issue but none has been addressed. I have been using iPhone 12 since last year and recently it is overheating easily and causing my battery to degrade fast in the past 2 months. Now I can use my iPhone 12 only for Google map and browsing but even that can cause the phone to heat up. If I play games with it, it would really heat up in 15-20 minutes to an extent that my fingers feel discomfort holding the phone.
It is an expensive device and I surely expect more from it other than being a gps and an Internet browser. Please be honest with your loyal customers. What is wrong with your devices?
