I have created a very simple app on my iPhone running iOS 14.5.1 It's only 1 white page cause all I needed to do was location simulation. My Xcode is 11.3.1 and I don't want to update to MacOS 10.15 so I'm stuck with this version of Xcode. So after finding, downloading and unzipping the iOS 14.5.1 device support files, i transferred the folder and the building of the app was done successfully even for deployment iOS 13.2(that's the newest that appears for me in Xcode). Once the building is complete I see it says "Running" for a few seconds and then I get the message "Unable to copy symbols from this device - Xcode was unable to read the required data from the device" and I can only click Cancel Running. I've been searching for solutions for 2 days now and no result yet. I've tried rebooting my macbook, the xcode app and my iphone. There is enough space on my macbook. Please any other solutions I could try? Really appreciate anyone's help in advance!
Xcode 11.3.1 running iOS 14.5.1 app error Unable to copy symbols from this device
Is it device or simulator ? What iOS version of it ?
The iOS version I mentioned above is on the device, I don't use simulator.
Please upgrade to Xcode 12.5.1 or Xcode 13. iOS 14 did not exist when Xcode 11 was released, and so you need a newer Xcode that supports iOS 14. Please see our Xcode Support article for the exact breakdown of version compatibility.
