Adding Code != .reality file?

We'd like to add some simple code to our .reality file but I'm thinking that in order to do that, it needs to become an app.

Is this true or can one add code into a Reality Composer scene and then export .reality?

Yes, it would need to become an app. You can create behaviors in Reality Composer and export the project to a Reality File. But you cannot store your own code in a Reality File.
