the customer says they run into a problem of the activation screen re-appearing on mid Nov 12.
prompting the user to authenticate with his Apple ID
This happened during normal use , by normal use we mean
no change in iPhone settings ,
no remote wipe from MDM or icloud.com
no device restart.
According to one of the MDM developers,
In-house apps that were compiled from Xcode 6.4 and above and installed onto iOS9.3.2-9.3.5 will most likely see this issue
because of a probable bug in Xcode but we cannot verify this, we have requested the customer to test Xcode 8.1 and
open a case with developer support.
The problem doesn't occur when compiling in-house apps in older Xcode 6.1
The timing between the last in-house app install and Activation Lock screen re-appearing is one week if the app is used X number of times.
We don't know how an in-house app can trigger an Activation Lock screen.
So can you please investigate
We have already escalated to iCloud Support Engineering, and found out that the device was
flagged as Activation Locked since Nov 26 2013, but did not find any thing that can lead to this
What's intersting to note is that when the app is compiled
in xcode it prompts for the Apple ID and password and if you skip this at build time
it may have created some issue but we cannot verify and need developer support assistance
The big question is can in-house apps compiled from Xcode6.4 and newer versions
cause the Activation Lock ?? Can you please trace the release notes or any known issues reported in Xcode?
