Mac Safari App not working well when using group tabs

Hello, 

I think I have found a problem with de Safari app on my Mac and the group tabs.

DEVICES:

I have this devices with Safari:

  • iPhone 12, iOS 15 (last release).
  • iPad Air 2, iPadOS 15 (last release).
  • MacBook Pro, 15’’, 2019, macOS Monterey (last release).

PROBLEM: 

When I started to use “group tabs” in my iPhone in iOS15 they worked perfectly in my iPhone and my iPad but the Safari app in my MacBook not, I will explain

  • The title os the tabs started appearing blank, without any information.

  • When I typed words in the address box spotlight didn’t search or offer suggestions.

  • If I deleted a tab in a Group Tab or a Group Tab (with all its tabs) using the Mac Safari App it didn’t synchronize with any device, the iPhone and iPad didn’t get affected by the deletion, I could access the deleted ones without problem.

  • If I deleted a tab in a Group Tab or a Group Tab (with all its tabs) using the iPhone/iPad Safari App it synchronized with all devices except the Mac Safari App, the iPhone and iPad got affected by the deletion but I could access the deleted ones without problem using the Mac Safari App.

At first the Safari app worked perfectly but after some minutes it behaved as I have said above, at first if I closed safari (Command + Q) and restarted it Safari worked fine until it crashed. Some days later restarting Safari didn’t solved anything anymore.

TESTS:

I made this tests:

Reinstalling macOS Monterey (First time)

I erased Macintosh HD in the apple store and reinstalled Monterey again.

The behavior was the same as I described above.

I didn’t make any changed in any of my devices.

Reinstalling macOS Monterey (second time)

The first thing I did was to erase all group tabs and use only the default group (iCloud).

Second, I erased Macintosh HD in the apple store (I went in case it was a known bug and to know if the kew how to solved it) and reinstalled Monterey again.

Right now the Mac Safari app is working perfectly as always. 

CONCLUSION:

After my second reinstall os MacOS I think that the problem is that the Mac Safari app didn’t work well with group tabs, crashing when there is at least one Group. 

I have been using my MacOS Monterey without any group tab for days and I don’t have any problem with it.

Any changes and configurations that I tried have not worked until I deleted all group tabs.

Has someone else found this problem or know how to solve it?
