On December 8, I needed to log into my developer account on the Apple Developer website for development purposes. I found that I had forgotten my password, so I entered the password recovery process on the webpage. After a few steps, the page indicated that I needed to be on my device to reset my password. Then I logged out of my developer account on my Mac book pro's Xcode account and was ready to go through the password retrieval process. The page loaded very slowly. I logged out of my private apple id on my own private iPhone and was ready to reset my developer account password on the App Store settings page in Settings. The process asked me to enter the 6-digit verification code that Apple sent to my developer account corresponding email address, and I entered the corresponding cell phone number. Everything was done, and the page told me to wait 24 hours. I called Apple Customer Service, and a senior product suggested I download the Apple Support App. It said that password recovery on here might speed up the recovery process. So I downloaded it, and after doing so. The display is still 24 hours. After 24 hours, I went to the Apple Support App to try to retrieve my password again on my own. The page says I need to wait 13 days before I can reset my password.
I called Apple customer service and was told by the customer service agent that I can only wait until 13 days to reset my apple id password. I would like to consult with you on. How can I complain about Apple's service, or is there any contact email?
I have a few questions about this bad experience:
- On what basis did Apple determine that I need to wait 13 days to reset my own Apple id?
- I know the phone number for my Apple ID and I can receive messages from Apple without any problems.
- Why is there no other verification measure to shorten the password reset cycle?
