Seagate Backup unable to mount

I have a Seagate Backup external hard drive with 4TB in it and it's formatted as MacOS Extended (Journaled). It shows up on my disk utility, however I can't mount it. When I do click on the Mount option, it shows this error message of "Could not mount “Seagate Backup”. (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error 49244.)". I've updated my Macbook Pro to macOS Monterey version 12.2.

Is there any way to force to mount my external hard drive to my Mac and possibly recover any lost files without having to delete/erase and then reformatting?

Hi MadDash,

Have you run First Aid on the disk and volume: Repair a storage device in Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support?

Does the volume mount properly in Safe Mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support?

Jack

I have the exact same issue as MadDash. I have an old portfolio on this external drive and it is extremely frustration that is not mounting (yes, showing up in disk utility, but Mount option is frozen). I configured it for Mac—having been a Mac user since forever. Any other tips? Thx!
