Reality Converter for macOS Catalina 10.15.7

I was using Reality Converter on my MacBook Pro 13" mid 2012 with Catalina 10.15.7.

Recently, I had to format my drive, reinstalled the OS and now when I download Reality Converter from Apple and try to open it, it says that the app requieres macOS 12.0. The last version of macOS I can install is Catalina 10.15.7, and I know there's a version of Reality Converter that can run on it because I was using it before.

Is there a way to download a previous version of Reality Converter that runs on Catalina? Or a way to open the one I downloaded despite not having macOS 12.0?

The furthest back I can find right now is beta 3 https://developer.apple.com/augmented-reality/tools/files/Reality_Converter_beta_3.dmg. Maybe that's far enough back?

Yes! Beta 3 works! Downloaded, installed, and already converting files right now! (I was searching for that link but the ones I found were wrong).

PD: Reality Capture Beta 3 is the last version that works with Catalina 10.15.7. (Tried installing Beta 4 just in case and it won't work).

Reality Converter beta 3 doesn’t work on my macOS 11.6.8. (macOS 12 required) Where to download older version? Thanks in advance!

Using the logic of the URL for Beta 3, by changing the number you can download newer betas:

https://developer.apple.com/augmented-reality/tools/files/Reality_Converter_beta_4.dmg

https://developer.apple.com/augmented-reality/tools/files/Reality_Converter_beta_5.dmg

Try one of those.

  • Of course, i tried this method.. But, there is no Reality_Converter_beta_2.dmg or Reality_Converter_beta_1.dmg files. All versions since beta 3, requires macOS 12.0 or later.

    System message: "You can’t use this version of the application “Reality Converter.app” with this version of macOS. You have macOS 11.6.8. The application requires macOS 12.0 or later."

Problem solved! Before re-installing Reality_Converter_beta_3, uninstall previous version of application and delete following 2 files:

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.RealityConverter.plist

~/Library/Application Scripts/com.apple.RealityConverter

Then install Reality_Converter_beta_3
