Why when I add a link ( https://world-weather.info/forecast/usa/new_york/ ) to my home screen, the site icon ( rel="apple-touch-icon") becomes black where there is a transparent background? Does this only apply to png or webp, avif and svg too?

You can't have transparent icons, so the system uses black.
