Astronomy Wallpaper Location

Hi team Apple, I have a query regarding how to change the location of astronomy wallpaper. As when I was setting up this wallpaper a pop arose and I didn’t gave it acces and now I want to change the location but now it is set to its default(US)

Even though this is not really a developer question, it seems to relate to your post, so I join it in the thread.

I also have issue to select the desired astronomy wall paper for lack screen and a different for welcome screen.

I posted the question in community discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254188249

In iOS 15, I had set a lock screen with a moon image and the welcome screen with Earth image. I cannot manage to do this in iOS 16.

  • I have set lock screen image as moon.
  • Then I go to settings / wallPaper, but cannot access the astronomy gallery to select Earth.
  • I also tried from lock screen set up, selecting moon image and the asking for custom welcome screen. Same issue: I can only select moon (Original leftmost icon) or a photo of mines, but cannot replace moon by earth.

What am I missing ?

Can you try to allow Location access for Astronomy. I need vice versa, anyone know how to reset to default location :(

Hey, had the same issue. Just go to location services in the setting. In the list of applications, there’ll be an option ‘Astronomy’, give location access there!

I had the same issue. Go to Settings - Privacy & Security - Location Services. Astronomy is listed there, so just turn it on

I can’t decide which one to commit to.. location or no location. Because I want it to display Australia but I don’t want that big green dot displaying my exact location. Feel like it ruins the aesthetic of the wallpaper. Is there any way to choose the angle of the Earth without having your location displayed by the big green dot? 🙏🏼

Hi, i was facing the same problem. If you go to settings -> location -> turn it on for astronomy

If you go to Privacy & Security then Location Services Astronomy will be there. Your welcome!

Location also drains your battery: unless you live in Cupertino, you have to turn your Location services on. Very Apple-like parochialism.

I had the sane Isaura. What you should do is go to the general settings, look for Location Services (private and security). You’ll see a list bellow and one of the first on the list is Astronomy. Go there and voilá!
