Guideline 4.0 - Design - min Ipad generation?

Hi everyone, When we tried to submit a small patch fix, we got this rejection notice:

"Guideline 4.0 - Design

We noticed an issue in your app that contributes to a lower-quality user experience than App Store users expect:

  • Your app was not optimized to support the iPad device screen size or resolution.

Since App Store users expect apps to be simple, refined, and easy to use, we want to call your attention to this design issue so you can make the appropriate changes."

My question is, what is the min ipad generation design we should be shooting for here, or does it even matter? Our app is 100% designed for phone. Anyone have any quick solutions to adjust resolutions from phone to ipad? A bunch of our screens were cropped top and bottom. Thanks in advance!

If your app is for iPhone only, did you set the supported destinations in Targets accordingly ?

Yes, but there is a bare min compatibility mode required apparently by apple, and for some reason our app crops top and bottom in ipad view.
