Why is xcode not installing?

Whenever i try to install xcode from the app store, it says this:

There is not enough disk space available to install the product.

yeah, i looked at the possible duplicate, but rn i have 40GB of space, wdym. not enough space

That is probably not enough.

So, you could either make some room (up to 60 or 70 GB) or remove older Xcode before downloading.
