HOW DO I LOAD AN APPS DATA FROM PREVIEW?!?! [URGENT]

I accidentally deleted an Xcode project from my mac, Like emptied the trash and everything and I dont know how to recover it. I opened a new project and previewed and saw the app still in the preview with all the other apps Ive made in the past. How do I transfer the apps data to a new project, this is urgent so please respond with any advice!

What are exactly the Preview you speak about ?

What do you want to recover ?

  • the code: that's most likely not possible if you have deleted Xcode project. However, if you remember the name of some file code, try to search for it. There may be a copy somewhere, by chance, but that's unlikely.
  • what do you see in Preview ? Can you run the app ?
  • if so, I advise you to take all the screenshots you can (probably the app is still in a simulator)
  • That will give you elements to recode the app.

Lesson for the future: save your projects regularly.

Stop using the computer.

Google "Mac undelete file recovery" or similar (on your phone, perhaps). Follow the advice you find.

If you've not done much since emptying the trash, and especially if the disk is not too full, I think you should have a chance of recovering it.

Once you've recovered it, start using Time Machine.
