My 2020 13” MacBook Pro has recently started having issues using my Samsung 49” when in 2560x1080 - the same resolution I’ve been using successfully for the past year or so.
I’ve tested every variable from replacing my usbc doc, DisplayPort cable, tried using HDMI, tried a different ultra wide monitor, and the problem still persists. After this, I’ve taken the machine to a genius twice, but haven’t been able to come to a conclusion and they are suggesting I lug my 50inch monitor into the mall to troubleshoot and this would be an absolute final resort.
to rule out this was an issue with the Mac and not the monitor, I’ve tried this with a different Mac - 2020 16inch MBP, and the monitor works perfectly fine.
I’ll attach a photo of what the monitor does at this resolution, all other resolutions “work” but the picture is stretched out a ton.
