I noticed today that if you enable tap to click and double click to highlight, There is a bug where it continues to hold onto your finger even when you let go of the trackpad and it will track the finger as it hovers over it not letting go of the highlight function regardless of the trackpad sensitivity. I dont believe we even have actual control of the device sensitivity in the OS. In order to get the highlight to cut i have to lift my entire hand off the trackpad 2-3 inches or force click down on to the trackpad to get the highlighted section to cut. This is on the M1 Macbook Air, unsure if all the models have this issue.
The gist of it is that if you use tap to highlight it wont stop highlighting unless you push down to force it to cut.
