Hello, I am on iOS 17 Dev 2 and I am having an issue with my iPhone 12 Pro Max and my other devices with trying to update my Apple ID for iCloud Keychain, I have already tried so many troubleshooting steps that Apple Support themselves tried and nothing worked, even on iOS 16.5.1 for general public. I have tried signing out of iCloud force rebooting the device and then signing back in as well as many other steps. When I try to update my Apple ID settings on any of my devices, it tries to load and sync and then nothing shows up, no Mac password authorizations, no passcode entries, nothing, it just goes back to the setting screen. Attached is a screen recording of both the Mac and the iOS issue. I can't even control my Home accessories because my iCloud Keychain can't sign in to my HomePod on HomePod OS 17. Even my iOS 15 Devices is having the same problem. Any help here would be greatly appreciated!!
iCloud Keychain not Updating Apple ID!! Help!!
And here's what happens when I turn it on manually.
I am going through the same ordeal right now. Have a ticket open with Apple about it since I can't do anything, but since it is on beta, they aren't able to do much for me
I restored my phone back to 16.5.1 and Apple Support collected Logs and Diagnostics and submitted it to engineering and are running a bunch of tests and so I will find out soon what the issue is but I am so glad that I am not the only one having this issue. I can now relax cause I first thought it was me. Question, when you enable your Apple Cash does it give you a 2FA Error? Cause that is what it gives me. Try doing that and see if it errors out with a message that says your 2FA is not enabled.
Thx,
Silent X
I have had quite the adventure over the last 72 hours.
TLDR; I cannot restore my iPhone back to 16.5.1, because my watch is on watchOS 10 🙃. Before I attempted the iOS 16.5.1 downgrade, I made an encrypted backup of my iOS 17, so that I could get back into (most) of my stuff. Apple Cash is still active for me, so I don't have anything to report about that.
I currently have a call back scheduled with Apple Support today; I went through all of their debug steps (which included removing all devices from my account, wiping them, re-adding them, downgrading, removing security keys, turning off Advanced Data Protection, etc.) and they seem to think it is something on the account side at the moment.
I have now lost all access to my iCloud Keychain, iCloud.com, Apple Home, etc. It is a pretty rough situation and I am very overwhelmed. I am glad I didn't migrate all of my 1Password objects to iCloud Keychain, because I would be really SOL.
Not sure what else I can do, but I will update this thread after my call this afternoon (in about 7 hours)
Yeah, Im going to call them too at 8am today to see if the got any results back on the logs. I will post here what I find out.
So I called and it turns out that the engineers are still working on my account. So I am just going to wait till my Advisor gets back to me. let me know if you find out anything on your side.
Forgot to update after the call yesterday; it involved downgrading to 16.5.1, capturing logs, then restoring to an iOS 17 backup in order to get my stuff (at least somewhat) accessible.
Haven't heard anything back from them; the advisor that collected logs from my devices yesterday was not the advisor assigned to my case.
Yeah, I had to transfer my case to a different advisor cause the one that was on my case was in Australia and that time was not gonna work for me.
WE BACK BABY!!!!
I have NO idea what changed, but everything started working again just now!
YEAH!! MINE TOO!! WOOOHOOO!!
WE LOVE TO SEE IT.
Thanks for keeping me company in these times or turmoil. Best wishes going forward for you and yours!
You too, buddy.
