watchos 2 beta 2

hi. i have updated to ios 9 beta then tried to update mu apple watch to watchos 2 beta 2, all went smoothly, untill it started installing it on my watch. the apple logo appeared and the ring around it. it has been loading for more than an hour and stuck on 25% of the ring. in other words the watch is not launching. any suggestions please ?

The weather app in my watch doesn't show the "sun" in the daytime.Even whe I reboot the watch.

Even when you do manage to boot into the beta, the battery drain issues and instability of the OS makes it impossible to work with for more than 2-3 hours at a time, which for me is just about long enough for each session of development. The only way I managed to get past this update screen was to wait until the battery was drained completely flat. Once dead plug it into a charger and wait until there is enough power for the watch to automatically turn itself on to low power mode. Once in low power mode I found that I was able to browse through settings and to very quickly go to the reset option and reset the watch. It took 3 or 4 attempts as the watch kept rebooting as I was browsing the options but as the batrtery slowely charged I was able to get to a point where I could hit that restore button. I am still encoutning issues, such as very fast battrery drain, random restars and apple logo freezes however it doesnot restart without problem. For some reason low power mode does get you into the OS and was the only thing that stopped me from using the applecare+ pay, replace, return, refund scheme.

watch 2 beta 2 shoukld be OTA download. It is not coming up that way. Where did you find it?

Hi,

I have the same troubles.

1. set the charger

2. turn apple watch on

3. I see circle bar (some times before this bar I see watch dashboard - I can manage displays, but it's a few seconds, and after circle progress bar) - There is exactly watchOS 2. When I turn digital crown in this seconds I see time travel function

I disable protect code, progressbar is going to 20% and stop.

I try force touch, when I saw only apple logo, I try force touch, when was circle bar - no results

Once after rebooting I saw display with 2 buttons: "Set dafault settings" and "cancel" (i don't know, how i open it, try it again - no results 😉 )

but i couldn't push this buttons 😟

haha.. It's realy funny!

after 100500 reboots I was able to open setting on apple watch and reset to default settings. After whis circle bar fill to 100% very fast.

Who has the same trouble.. Do many reboots and good luck 🙂

Took my watch to the Apple store they sent it off to be fixed got it back 3 days later no charge. The watch beta is just that and I will wait it out.

The following steps worked for me:

1] Long press the crown and power button for about 10 seconds to force reboot the Watch.

2] Wait for reboot.

3] On main screen, press the power button until watch show the power action options.

4] Force touch to show the "reset content and settings." and select it.

5] I waited for a long time. I couldn't wait and I rebooted again.

6] After that, the process runs normally.

7] You must setup the Apple Watch as a new one.

Sorry for my english!

Force touching in point 4 does nothing for me. The second thing is, that in point 3. I dont see the option to "slide" the switch to power off or go to power reserve mode, I only see the menu items and cannot "move" them to activate...

So I managed to get my applewatch to workign condition. The key is to press the contacts button as soon as you boot up the watch withing the few seconds you have access to the watch OS...so right after the boot sequence ends and just before the apple logo with the loading circle shows up.

Mine is stuck in the apple logo and does nothing

Just give it a couple of restarts, eventually, I was able to get to the OS for a few moments before it switched back to the "loading circle"... I've spent almost 2 days figuring this out, but it worked in the end.

Could you please provide detals of how you where 'able to get to the OS' ?

I think most of us have tried 'a couple of restarts'.

For me this fixed my particular issue.

My watch would boot after a hard-boot, but shortly after (and consistently when opening an app) it would go to the progress screen and stay stuck on 1 tick.

By doing a sync-and-reset from the iPhone Watch while the watch hadn't crashed yet, the Watch got factory reset, and repairing worked as it should.

Thanks!

What did pressing the contacts button do to you exactly? I just went back to the spiral screen of death as usual.

Anyone here had success fixing their bricked watch WITHOUT a passcode? Force touch doesn't appear to do anything. I am able to get into the OS for a few seconds but can never open the settings app and reset/add a passcode before the spiral of death pops up. Really don't want to be sending the watch to Apple to be repaired.

UPDATE

God was being very nice to me today and in an instant of magic I was able to go to the settings and reset with enough time.. Unfortunately there was no linear set of steps I can give to replicate this, but be patient and keep on trying, you can get it eventually especially if I did.. And remember to KEEP A PASSCODE when beta testing to be safe so you can do the force touch at the power menu trick if this is to happen again. Good luck to all suffering with this issue. It literally looks like you're performing CPR and resusitating the thing.
