Xcode and heated Mac ?

I noticed that my MacBook heats up on using Xcode. I installed latest Xcode 15.0.1 this morning along with something related to iOS 17. When I forced quit Xcode, temp. lowered to normal. What to do?

Many people are experiencing an issue related to Xcode 15. Apple released a new update just three days ago, but unfortunately, problems with iOS 17 exist. This issue is affecting both beta versions and public release versions. Apple seems to be struggling with the quality of its releases because it didn't thoroughly test it before making it available to the public.

Solution: You can resolve this problem by using the iOS 16 Simulator or waiting for a stable update.

  • Thanks for responding. I didn't know I can choose to install iOS 16 instead of 17. There was no such option. However, I again used swift playground in evening and surprisingly it worked fine. No heating. I just hope it works well in future too.
