My MacBook Air M1 has installed Mac OS Sonoma 14.3.1, and I tried to install game-poring-toolkit tonight. After the step which it requires me to input the command "brew -v install apple/apple/game-porting-toolkit", Terminal ran for minutes. But at the end this error appeared: Error: apple/apple/game-porting-toolkit 1.1 did not build. I don't know anything about coding and software. Could someone please tell me what cause this error and how to fix it after you read my post? I will appreciate your help!
Error: apple/apple/game-porting-toolkit 1.1 did not build
Upgraded to Sequoia and the version of Xcode's Command Line Tools is 16. Sadly, same issue...
Same after Sequoia installation. Error: apple/apple/game-porting-toolkit 1.1 did not build and the most killing message in logs :
If reporting this issue please do so to (not Homebrew/brew or Homebrew/homebrew-core): apple/apple

I just wasted 2 hrs reading the confusing docs and trying to get this built, only to run into this same error.
As typical for the last decades, Apple keeps failing at gaming.
This is precisely why Apple has never been, or ever will be, taken seriously in gaming.
Indeed, it seems that apple still forgot to help us solve this issue on March 2025. Actually, somehow I just thought this was one independent issue for my m4 macbook. Now, my m4 mac mini still had been raised the same issue, very good to know this. So currently I just try to use directly Whisky, btw whisky can do some works if it is able depending on the complier.
Again, as the readme.rtf mentioned, the approach using homebrew-wine and game-porting-toolkit casks did not make lots of sense if you wanna try not to follow the own evaluation env provided by apple. Specifically, the own evaluation env approach shall be best to run the game .exe files if you and your macs are able, actually I did install the game porting toolkit 1.1 successfully as the brew cask, which indicated one very different installation from both apple's instruction as well as applegamingwiki although I did follow either instruction step by step. So I do believe that apple did provide and upgrade the GPTK scripts but excluded its readme and brew dependency somehow. Do please help us indeed.
Hey Today's 6th of May, but I can't instal GPT too. So, I decided write down a comment, maybe Apple'll solve this problem ...
