I work for an agency and we build small little kiosks and stuff like that. A recent project we created a few web apps at a clients request that are to run on iPads provided by the client. We added these devices to Airwatch and installed profiles on them for WiFi connectivity, Home Screen layout, Restrictions, etc.
I've been able to hide or organized all the other default Apple apps but one app I'd like to hide is the Settings app. I added it's bundle idenfitier in the restrictions payload to hide it but it didn't work, however other bundle ID's do (the Mail app for example).
I inquired to Airwatch about this for any ideas and they told me Apple does not allow the Settings app to be a hidden app. Can somebody confirm that the Apple API does not allow this behavior?
I know it's an odd thing to maybe want to do but these devices are going to be handed out to folks in a waiting room and for obvious reasons I'd like to lock the device down as much as possible (obviously the Settings app would be a big one).
Thanks.
