Safari extensions not working correctly on IOS 17.4.1 and 17.5 beta

I am re posting this issue, as a solution still hasn't been provided. please see this original feedback ticket for all the details FB13744621

It is worth remembering that only you and Apple personnel can see details of your feedback tickets. For others, we get a feedback not found page.

  • Thanks for this, basically the issue is that ever since upgrading to iOS 17.4.1 we have issues where our content scripts weren't getting loaded correctly at times. They have said that the issue was fixed in 17.5 beta. Testing the beta version we still getting issues, this time where our background script logic only gets run after we click on the "AA" menu and clicking on our extension icon to open the extension popup. The behavior is not consistent but does happen quite often.
