Training an object tracking model is canceled

When I try to train an object tracking model in Create ML, the progress bar stays stuck at 0% for about a minute. However, the training cancels soon afterwards without an additional error message. I've tried multiple different USDZ files and tried on two different Apple silicon Mac devices. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Thank you!

Can you file a feedback using feedback assistant and attach a problematic USDZ file?

Hi there,

If you have an iPhone Pro or supported iPad, we encourage you to use the iOS Object Capture feature, which is part of Reality Composer, a free app on iOS. If you don’t have a supported device or prefer to use another capture tool, or have USD models already created with another workflow, please ensure that this model only contains the object of interest. Other entities such as a USD Camera Prim will create issues.

To inspect and remove incompatible scene nodes, you can use Reality Composer Pro on Mac. Create a new Reality Composer Pro Project (not Scene) and import your file. Then you'll need to unlock the root node from the file you dragged in, navigate inside each node, and deactivate any node not affecting rendering.

While you're here, you might want to translate the object so that its origin, orientation, and most importantly scale are correct. If the object scale is incorrect, tracking performance will be substantially decreased.

After this, you can Export the new modified USDZ file, which should now be properly supported by Create ML.
