Xcode Beta2 Predictive Code Completion Not Downloading

Hi,

I'm using macOS 15 beta 2 on an external SSD with Xcode 16 Beta 2. The Predictive Code Completion model option is grayed out under Xcode Settings > Text Editing > Editing. The information button shows a message saying this feature is not supported in my region.

I am located in the USA and using a 16GB RAM iMac M1 from the Apple Store. Is the Predictive Code Completion feature unavailable to free developer accounts? If not, any ideas on why I can't download the model?

Thanks!

The message in Xcode is wrong — predictive code completion currently requires booting from the internal hard drive.

I started to download it and it failed.. I did a restart of my Mac mini and then restarted Xcode which worked.

My problem is that I don't get the option to download in the first place!

I have a Studio wiht M1 Max 64Gb and a G-Force 500Gb external drive and I getting this error in CA. Fellow developer in AZ has a Mac Mini wiht 16Gb and a 1TB external drive and he is not. Would appear to be a drive size error, but I will need to try with a 1TB G-Force External drive.

Xcode 16 Beta 3 also does not allow predictive code completion to download on a 500 GB external drive, and I will now start over on a 1Gb external drive; not a good use of my time, and nothing in the release notes about this limitation or why some are allowed and others not.
