Does every TestFlight app now need to be reviewed?

Hi,

1. In the old TestFlight, apps had to be reviewed once per app store version before they could go to external testers. There was a checkbox where you could indicate that new builds had no significant changes. That checkbox appears to be gone, at least I can't find it anywhere. It looks like Apple now puts every new build through the review process. Is that true, or am I missing something?

2. It looks like I now have to select each build and specifically add my External testers to it? I thought this might have just been a one-time thing, but after posting a second and third build, I had to do it again and again.

3. Isn't there some way I can upload builds from Xcode and have them automatically submitted and released to all my testers, including external testers? I'm really tired of the multi-step process of uploading a build, then waiting for it to be "processed", then logging in to iTunes Connect and clicking on a bunch of things before the build is released. I'd like to click Upload from Xcode and walk away. It's fine if the first build requires some configuration, but subsequent builds should be automated.

Thanks,

Frank

Hi Frank

I was wondering about the "significant changes" option, but when I submitted a revised build for review it when straight through to "testing" status and skipped the review. I'm guessing it'll do this a certain number of times until another review is required - just a guess though.

Does every TestFlight app now need to be reviewed?
