TestFlight is Unavailable

I use Apple Business Manager to install apps on my office iPads and to track them. I am a beta tester for a company that pushes new versions of their software through TestFlight. These iPads are logged into managed apple accounts [apple IDs] under my Apple Business Manager account. When I attempt to open TestFlight, I receive a message "TestFlight is currently unavailable, try again later." If I logout and sign in an iPad under a consumer Apple Account, TestFlight works properly. I however, want to use these iPads under my apple business account.

Sorry for the delay, are you still having that issue with TestFlight? Is now currently available?

Unfortunately yes. I am hearing that it is related to managed [federated] Apple ID accounts. Even though it is my domain and I control these accounts, it is blocked on the apple side. Developers say it is not a restriction on their end. Unfortunately the only workaround is to logout of the managed Apple ID account, login to a consumer Apple ID account, download the software I need through TestFlight, then logout and log back in with the managed Apple ID which is quite a bit of work.

@DTS Engineer, we are experiencing the exact same issue as @biggreydog. Can this issue we escalated to allow TestFlight app to be used with Federated Apple Business Manager accounts? We are forced to use unmanaged AppleID's on our company managed devices. Our company is expected to adhere to strict security standards in our app development and it seems counterintuitive to Apple's constant messaging about security to not allow managed/federated accounts to use this development application.

Hello Albert Pascual
and Apple DTS

Will this issue be resolved soon? Seems like it might be an oversight to disallow TestFlight usage to Managed Apple IDs.

Experiencing the same issue. Some employees are able to access TestFlight with their managed accounts while others cannot.

Also experiencing this issue. Agree with all the comments here. Horribly annoying to bounce in / out of managed vs. personal Apple ID. Also feels like it defeats the purpose of the Managed Apple ID in a business setting where any kind of development is involved. Anyone find a workaround/solve/etc.?

We have the same issue. I don't see how we can do best practice IT standards of SSO with this limitation. This causes us a lot of headache. Apple please fix this or offer a workaround for Federated Apple Accounts.

Same issue here

We are experiencing the exact same issue. It popped up this week. Is there any workaround available while waiting for a fix?

Same here. We're getting this message in all our iPhones. Even after uninstalling and installing Testflight again. We open, press continue and the error message pops up. We are based in Germany.

Any idea on how to fix this?

I would recommend everyone in this thread to please try again as there was a fix by the engineering TestFlight team:

October 22, 2025
TestFlight update
Users with Managed Apple Accounts, except those assigned to Student roles, can now be invited to use TestFlight to beta test apps.

If still does not work for you or you have any issue, please file a bug:
