Recently Changed Bundle ID, can we still upgrade the old app?

We've recently transferred one of our existing Production apps to a new centralized store in Apple, and the Bundle ID has changed. What's the customer experience for those with the old app? Are they able to upgrade in place, are they notified there's a new build, or do they need to first delete the old app and then search and download the new one?

The bundle ID? Or the App ID?

An App ID consists of an App ID prefix followed by a bundle ID. For example, 74J34U3R6X.com.apple.iWork.Pages has a prefix of 74J34U3R6X and a bundle ID of com.apple.iWork.Pages.

Transferring the app changes the App ID prefix but not the bundle ID.

If you did change the bundle ID then, as endecotp says, that makes for a completely app. You new app is no more related to your old app that, say, Pages is to Word.

It's a completely different app.
