iOS 11 Beta So Far....??

Hi

I installed iOS 11 Beta last night and have had a play around with it on my iphone 7 Plus. First impressions, it can be somewhat slow and clunky. I've had the phone dialer screen freeze up and become unresponsive on a few occassions. Last night I'd noticed the screen brightness getting brighter on its own. Closing a webpage in Safari is sometimes unresponsive. I'm still getting used to the new Notifications Screen.

I know its a Beta but I would have thought it would have been a bit more slick than this. For me the first iOS 10 Beta seemed to rum more smooth. Anyways, I'm sure iOS 11 will only get better with each Beta before the Official launch in the Fall.

Thanks

Barry

I personally think its the worst beta of them all. We updated just one of our developer iPhone 7s. Its unusable. We cannot connect to the App Store, iTunes, and Apple Music. No fix has worked. I dont think apple has done enough out of the gate. iOS 10 was MUCH better! Also really not impressed at all with the features for iOS 11. Nothing excited us.

I have installed iOS 11 on iPhone 7+ & iPad Pro 9.7”. As a matter of facts, I am writing this on iPad Pro 9.7” and I really have no problem. It’s a beta, of course but for first beta I find it great. I have to discover how to clear dock of unwanted icons and some other new improvements but over all I really like it. As to the iPhon, I have used it quite a bit for calling and I had no problem. Battery is draining a little bit faster but that’s normal too with beta. Further more, I did not do a clean install which mean none of the software i have is updated to iOS 11. Even worse, some softwares are really old and have not been update for quite a while. All in all, I am very happy with iOS 11 and I think it’s fair to say that this is a mother of all iOS softwares update to date, specifically for iPad. Now iPad is really approaching very fast to laptop computer. Thank you Apple.

Hi

I've noticed another issue this afternoon. When you play a track from the Music App and then close it when your no longer using the App. A partial area of the Music Player remains in the Notification Screen. The only way to fix it is swith the iPhone off and back on again, until the next time you use the Music App. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next Beta Update.

Hi

I agree, iOS 10 Beta out of the gate was very slick :-) iOS 11 Beta has been a bit disappointing so far. I don't like the look of the Calculator App, also the numeric keypad on the Dialler screen :-(

Its early doors so I'll hang in there to see what future Beta Updates bring before Public Release in the Fall.

How did you clear the dock of the Icons? If I open an app it adds to the dock and can't get rid of it. Is there a way to stop adding recents to the dock bar?

I feel the same way about the IOS11 updated being less than exciting. I am hoping that when they announce their newer phone that more features will be announced then. It seem that this beta is half baked, and that there are alot of things missing that they didn't include, probably because it would leak or tie information to the new phone. Thats my hope anyway.

Music app crashes. Restart of iPhone works sometimes. Looking for it to be fix in the next release. Since I am sharing with Apple. They getting the crashes.

I've noticed that taps are slow to respond. I suspect there's some debug logging going on that is impacting the performance. Does anyone know how to turn this off?

I have installed IOS 11 on my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6s and I’m very happy so far, no real issues with anything, TestFlight is the only app that’s had a problem.

I’m glad I haven’t run into the problems others seem to have had, I can understand the frustration they must be feeling.

I have found that the notifications on the login screen may become undeletable, split screen may hang, and widgets may come up on the login screen and become undeletable. It also seems to be un-intuitive when performing split screen actions and dealing with notifications. Seems the new features are unstable so far.

As some describe above... this is the worst beta I’ve seen and feels sloppy and clunky. It’s almost unusable which is not the quality you’d expect from Apple. Basic stuff doesn’t work. LIke the Bluetooth enable button on the utility screen. Phone crashes frequently. Seems like they just didn’t test this and threw it out just to see how it went. Yikes.
