Battery Drain Differences by Device

I know battery life always stinks in the first few builds, but for all you real developers out there here's an observation I just noticed.

I have beta 1 installed on an iPad Pro 9.7 and iPhone 7. The phone battery drained around 20% this morning in about 3 hours. However, the iPad is still smoking and joking at 100% in the same timeframe while connected to a pencil.

What's your point? Apple always prioritizes power management down during early betas...this isn't new and doesn't deserve the repeated attention it receives.

There has to be something far more worthy to deal with beta testers can spend their time on, so pls. don't squander your participation in the beta and chance to contribute otherwise 😉

Agreed - but for the past few versions I’ve noticed a difference between devices as well in early builds - like KMT said this is usually fixed in subsequent revisions. I don’t have an iPhone 7 - I’m running the beta on a 6s and an iPad Pro 9.7 - i wonder if on the 7 everything is going through the performance cores rather than having fusion fully implemented. since the 9.7 doesn’t have fusion i guess the power management might not be affected, but a blind guess, i still need to update my desktop to new Xcode.
