mail import failed os x 10.13

Hello everyone,

I have installed OS X High Sierra on m iMac Retina 5K and apart some kernel panics I also get a very unusual feature: Mail simply does not work: it attempts to rebuild and import messages, yet crashes every time with the message " mail cannot import mail" or " make sure you have enough availabal space in your Home folder " ( which should not be the case, I have 89 GB free space on my SSD.

Many thanks for all your help,

I found a workout for mail import -- delete Gmail account from System preferences then do the import which works smoothly and quickly. Adding Gmail afterwards still presents a glitch so do not install in sysPref.

Hi, how did your IMac retina boot. Mine stuck in a panic loop after I installed it.

Deleting Gmail account didn't help in my case. Still stuck with this issue in b3.

Hi,

I had the very same problem. If all your accounts are IMAP (e. g. all mails are stored on the server) the solution is simple. You can delete the contents of ~/Library/Mail. The account data is stored somewhere else. When you start Mail.app it will re-import all mails from the server and successfully create a new mail store.

Benjamin
