Xcode Cloud issue (ibtoold crash?)

Hi, our builds with a Test action in Xcode Cloud are failing because of an internal Xcode Cloud crash.

We see the "red cloud with an X" icon, that indicates that it's an Xcode Cloud issue, and the message says "The Test - iOS action could not complete due to an error. The error may not occur on rebuild." but this has been happening for a while now, and for repeated builds.

In the artifacts there is a crash log apparently related to the "ibtoold" process, has anybody had this issue before?

Hi, we need some more diagnostics to be able to help you with this. Could you please file a feedback request and post the number here so we can examine the logs? Be sure to include your team ID and the link to the build also. You can file Xcode Cloud specific feedback using these steps.

@xcc-developer Hi, thanks for the answer. I'm using the steps you linked in order to send Xcode Cloud specific feedback, but when I try to submit it says that the attachments might contain personal or sensitive information, and that will be used to train machine learning models.

I'm not sure about the attachments, so I'd like to understand which attachments are absolutely necessary, and which can be skipped. For example, can I limit the attachments to just the "Xcode Cloud diagnostics" folder (which contains the build artifacts)? Thanks

@xcc-developer I filed a feedback request and attached the Xcode Cloud diagnostics that contain the build logs.

We also have a similar repeated issue. Everything is archiving in xcode cloud but then on step "Preparing build for App Store Connect failed" action fails and in logs there is ibtool crash ExcUserFault_ibtoold-2025-10-16-082310.ips.
