On pretty much every YouTube video I watch in Safari, using the arrow keys to skip ahead 5 seconds, or manually clicking another time index on the scrubbing bar will produce quit a bit of lag. I've seen it as long as ~20 seconds, and sometimes the graphics will just freeze completely and I will have to force quit Safari. Note that only the graphics freeze - the audio keeps going. (the audio will skip ahead to where I clicked and play from there, but the graphics will just freeze at whichever frame was before I clicked/skipped ahead).
I have not seen this happen in Chrome - only in safari (though I haven't tested Firefox yet.) I did notice that the lag generally seems to be less the shorter the video length is. So this might be a buffering issue or something.
Does this happen for anyone else or just me? This began when I installed the first PUBLIC BETA of High Sierra 10.13. And does anyone know of any fix, or will we have to wait for Apple to fix it in the next beta.
Thanks!!
