Safari 100% CPU time. High Sierra Beta 3

Since I installed beta , Safari has been acting worse. I think it got even worse today after beta 3 installation. It goes to 100% regularly. If I quit it using Activity Monitor(not forced quit), it stays 100% and after a couple minutes becomes (not responding). Then I have to force quit. It is usable(I am typing from it right now, even tho' the fans on this 2012 MacBook Pro Retina are running high speed).

Hhave you tried removing your Safari extensions then restarting your Mac to see if that resolves the issue?

Then restore one extension at a time to find the problem extension, also switch off any anti-virus you may have and see if that helps.

I've had problems with Safari using CPU and also with Safari web content crashing repeatedly on certain pages. Does not seem to be related to my extensions (still happens when off). I filed rdar://33241794 about it. No AV running.

Same here. 100% CPU with all extensions uninstalled (not just disabled).

I have no extensions installed. I cleared the cache, restarted, to no avail.

Having same problem on Beta 3. Haven't found any solution 😟

The same on Public Beta 2

Same for me. Had to start using Chrome instead.

I have the same issue. Switched to Safari Technology Preview (and made it the default) and haven't the CPU issues as with Safari.

I had this issue with Safari using 100% CPU and the fans running consistently with very fast battery drain. Installed Safari Technology Preview, imported all of my bookmarks and favorites, works perfect and now it tends to hover around 1-5% CPU usage.

I find the same thing with the latest public beta, safari goes to 100%.

This seems to be when watching video in browser; ie go to the www.bbc.co.uk website and watch any old news video.

Downloaded the technology beta (google safari technology beta) and it runs at about 30% when watching the same video (at the same time as safari above, which pegs out 100%)

Confirmed here, technology preview works as normal, which is a relief as i do not like using chrome. For me was not related to video- safari would just randomly use cpu and spin the fans (even when doing nothing).
