Can you include in the mobile application description on the store additional features that will be coming soon in the next versions? Trying to communicate to users which features will be added to the application in later versions, but not sure if I can list them in the description section for the application in the store. Does anyone know??
application description
Generally, I put that info in the app's internal about screen, but if you keep it brief, I don't think you'll be setting a precedent.
I would be aware of two distinct risks, however... (1) Don't expect users to read the store description and (2) Do expect users to read the 'coming soon' details as features they get now, with their current download, and then flame you relentlessly in reviews, ask for refunds etc., so...
Apple's review guidelines state that app descriptions should not be misleading and be relevant to the content of the app (presumably to the version that the user is about to download). I would say that future promises are not relevant. Even if you are sincere, future development can be derailed by lack of time, money or even changing Apple requirements. If those promises are not fulfilled, you run the risk of alienating your customers.
In addition, promising features that are not yet available tells your competitors what you plan to do, giving them a headstart to implement them and steal your customers.
