Can't restore??

I booted into the Restore partition, and attempted to Restore the Mac OS on a clean drive. All goes well until 17 seconds remaining, and then the restore throws an error saying that the "Application cannot proceed." What's up?

FWIW, the restore claims to be trying to install 10.13 which I have *never* been able to run successfully on my Mac mini (works fine, for a beta, on my MBA and my MBP). I can recover from a backup partition, but what I would like is a completely clean OS.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Mac is running 10.13 and you are trying to restore back to 10.12? That won't be possible from the restore partition, or really any method. This is why Apple always says that you cannot go back once you install a macOS beta, unlike iOS.

Your best bet is to download the 10.12 release from the Mac App Store and move it to a USB drive, then use Disk Utility from Recovery to erase the entire drive and then install from the USB. This is a very difficult process, however, and there's no guarentee that it will work.

I would honestly suggest that you just wait until the final release of 10.13 and then restore the Mac.

Of course, if this is not the situation, and I'm reading it wrong, let me know what is going on.

Can't restore??
