Can't unlock Mac with Watch on beta 10.13

Hello everyone,

I have got watchOS 4 (15R5331g) installed and macOS High Sierra (17A315i) installed. I cannot unlock my laptop with my Watch right now. I have tried re-enabling Two Factor Authentication, reset the passcode on the Watch and re-enabling the bluetooth modules. Still, the option to unlock the Mac with my Watch doesn't shop up on the Security panel in System Preferences. Do you guys have any suggestions? Is it a bug, or is it because of beta software?

My MacBook is an Early 2013 MacBook Pro with Retina resolution, I have got an Apple Watch Series 2. It's weird, Apple states that all macs after mid 2013 can have this option, but a colleague of mine can unlock his 2012 iMac with his Watch.

Sincerely,

Frank.

I found a workaround for myself:

-This seems to be a problem with Handoff on some parts.

-Disable Handoff on iPhone, Watch and Mac restart all of them.

-Once they've restarted re-enable Handoff, then head to privacy and enable "allow your apple watch to unlock your Mac".

Hope this helps.

Also doesn't work for me with macOS build 17A315i and stock WatchOS.

I have the impression bluetooth is generally glitchy in High Sierra as it is now. Might be the cause?

I was having the same problem for about a day. Tried everything to fix it but nothing worked. Until it was magically restored on its own late last night like it never happened. When I did have problems enabling watch auto-unlock it was throwing out sharingd unlock session-queue related user error logs. Those are all gone now as well.
