My app is under a Guideline 4.1 grace period that ends on 19 August 2026. If I do not ship a compliant update by then, the app will be removed from sale.
The update is ready. Version 1.1.1 has a processed build attached, the app has been renamed, and all metadata has been corrected in every localization. The version status is "Ready for Review".
The problem: there is no way to submit it. No "Add for Review" or "Submit for Review" button appears anywhere on the version page.
I believe the submission is blocked by pending compliance items in App Information — the updated age rating questionnaire and/or the Digital Services Act trader verification, which still shows "This developer has not identified as a trader for this app."
Here is where I am stuck. The DSA trader verification requires a phone verification code. I am currently travelling abroad and my registered Spanish line has no roaming service at my location, so I cannot receive SMS or calls on it. I have also now hit the "too many verification codes have been sent" limit.
So I have a compliant version I cannot submit, blocked by a verification I physically cannot complete from where I am, against a deadline six days away.
Questions:
- Is the DSA trader verification (or the age rating questionnaire) what blocks "Add for Review"? I would like to confirm before spending more of the deadline on the wrong thing.
- Is there any alternative to SMS/phone for the trader verification — email, or documentation review?
- If this cannot be resolved in time, can the grace period be extended given that the blocker is an account verification step and not the guideline issue itself?
I have already replied in App Review Messages explaining the fix. Any pointer would be appreciated — I am running out of runway.
