"waiting for review" for so long, since July 31st

Hello, since July 31st, our app has been stuck in the waiting for review state for a long period of time.

We have already taken some actions.

  1. July 31: first submission.
  2. August 10: after waiting for over a week, we assumed there was a problem with the review queue -> cancel and resubmit. We attempted to submit an expedited request, but there was an issue with Apple service. It keeps saying "Sorry, we didn't receive your request."
  3. August 13: request a call with the Support Team. There was a guy named Tony who answered. Unfortunately, even Apple's staff is unable to access their internal system, as he told us that, and "he don't know why"?
  4. August 14: request a call again. Apple staff - Andy took up the phone and said he could not do anything about this situation and said... We just have to wait.
  5. August 25: rejected the build, upgraded the version, and submitted once more. We're hoping that this build will get out of the stucked queue...

Side notes:

  • Attempted to submit another expedited request were unsuccessful, the problem remained, tried several times.
  • Made an appointment for a App Review team. But even the registration is still pending.

Does anyone here have suggestions or solutions for this situation? This is the first time we've encountered this situation, and it's quite strange. Isn't that a side effect of the August 8th maintenance?

Update:

  • August 28: Request an appointment, Jenny from Apple said that she needed to escalate to technical team, and would give me a call back after a few days.
  • September 3: Jenny got back to me and clarified this is a bug. She helped to move the build to the normal queue and said that it should be approved after 1-2 days.

What type of appointment can we reqeust?

Update:

  • Almost 4 days have passed, and our app is still "waiting for review", therefore I'm thinking whether I should... seek another App Review appointment.

Update:

  • Tried calling support again today, Sep 9, and spoke with Amber from the Singapore site. She said that the problem had been escalated to the internal team. However, she was unable to provide a particular turnaround time.
  • Notice: don't try to cancel and resubmit the build, instead, just wait.

Update:

  • We're planning to submit a new bundle ID with the same codebase and sent an email to Amber to clarify if it's possible.

Update:

  • Sep 9: ask Apple Support for advice on upload the same codebase with a different bundle id and then remove from sale when this issue is resovled. As the issue has now been blocking our business for so long, our customers are becoming increasingly frustrated with the situation.
  • Sep 11: this is the repsonse
Hello,

Thank you for your follow-up communications.

This is still being investigated by our engineering team. It may take an indeterminate amount of time for a resolution to be reached; however, we will share new information with you immediately upon receipt.

Your patience continues to be appreciated.

Good news: we tried to publish via external testing on TestFlight yesterday, and this version got approved after a few hours. Despite this, the prior beta version is still trapped??

-> We're assuming that Apple is fixing it, so hopefully it will be working soon.

Finally:

  • Last Friday, after a month and a half of waiting, our application was approved.
  • I believe that the review queue is improving. The fact that the expedited request was successful serves as proof. I received, "We'll expedite review for ***."
