10.11 mail read-only

With the second El Capitan beta, seems we can't edit Mail account settings. Does anyone has this problem? And a solution?

Every time I edit anything in accounts mail crashes..

I've not read of anyone having that particular issue, and I don't have it myself, but if you can answer the following, it would help diagnose the cause:

I'm guessing that the crash occurs when open Mail's preferences and attempt to make changes to an account. Does it crash when you make a change or only when you try to save changes?

Preferences is not the only way to make changes to accounts. Have you tried right-clicking on an account in the sidebar and selecting "Get Account Info" (not Edit "Xxxxxxxx") and making changes from there?

I'm having the same issue in beta 3, But only with iCloud account.

Seems settings withh not take.

It prompts the save option however when you go back in there the changes don't take.

Same, same. Was fine until 15b22c. Everything else looks good, opening a couple dozen tabs in the right space in 3 different browsers, across spaces, even. Only my "VIPs" seem to load, as well as "Flagged," nothing else. Prompts for Account, but won't load. Inbox clicked, "Inbox (Read only)."

Time for a new mail reader? I'd researched a year or so ago, and there was one really well-rated and only u$2. Will probably wait until first public release version comes out, but sorting thru hundreds of emails every day is tedious.

Gmail is fine in browser, but icloud mail isn't quite as slick, tho was pleasantly surprised to see my rules carried over to iCloud mail.

Clean install seems to have helped.

1T disk inside iMac is partitioned to have 2 different systems, new and previous. I installed over Mavericks. Generally, start w/ a beta, so who knows what junk is in there. Home directory is on an external disk.

• Put El Cap installer on Yosemite disk

• Erased Mav

• Installed from Yosemite to the former Mav disk

Its getting my hundred K or two mails, now. Was gonna do this to see how much better is performance, anyhoo, on this and the Mac Mini.
