Converting startup disk to APFS

I didn't get any options to convert to APFS when I installed High Sierra. I've opened disk utility and when clicked on my internal startup disk it is Mac OS extended,(journaled) go to edit menu and the option to convert to APFS is greyed out.


I've got a few external HD's and only 1 or 2 have the option to convert.


How do I convert internal HD and why can't all my external HD's be converted?

Have a look at this: https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/apfsfusion.


Given what Apple say about Fusion drives, I expect it will be a long time before APFS will work on internal hard disk drives.
