iOS 9 beta 3 - News app missing?

I just OTA updated my iPhone 6+ to beta 3 and the news app seems to be missing. Also, I cannot seem to find the newsstand app on my device.

Same here. I also did the OTA update on an iPad Air 2 and there's no News app.

News is currently only operating if your region is set to the US - (UK and Australia coming soon hopefully). Setting the Region to United States in Settings -> General -> Language & Region -> Region = US and then reboot your device will activate the News app now for you. Newsstand is now being depreciated because of the new News app.

The News app was also missing for me, and as I live in the US, my region was already set to that. Rebooted anyway, and still no News (which isn't "good news").

Changing the region and rebooting the device did the job for me. Thank you!

I have managed to get the app following your directions.

Unfortunately, even having the app, when it opens, I come across a message saying:

"Sorry, News isn't avaliable right now. The app is not supported in your current region".

Now, is it true that I am actually in China, but I do have a VPN on, set to an US server. So, my IP belongs to somewhere around LA.

Anyone knows if the News App activates also GPS, in order to receive local contents?

In this case, this should be why I am not getting the App working, even though I do actually have it on both my iPad and iPhone. The strange thing is, when I actually installed the new iOS9 Beta, the region was already set in the US for both of them, but I didn't get the News app at first hand; only after setting the region over again.

For the records, iPad Air2, iPhone 6 plus here.

Any clue?

worked for me as well

I'm also in China, VPN etc. I got it to work this way: US region US app store (not sure if this makes a difference) Airplane mode Connect to wifi Connect to US VPN Settings>privacy>location settings>Toggle off all location service Open news app. That worked for me and when I put my phone back to U.K. App store, us location, location services back on it still seems to work. Good luck!

Actually this worked also for me, but it has a major drawback: unless you leave everything like you said, is not exactly working.

I have tried many different configurations: when I reconnect the 4G or I toggle on the location services, the contents usually are gone.

The only way to get this working for us should be not using either the phone as a phone or the gps at all... So, no news for now, according to my needs.

At least I know how to switch this on if I want it back 😁
