Same users when updating in the middle of phased release?

Phased release is great!

Recently I was in the middle of a phased release of my app. (less than 10% of users had the update) I noticed a crash, paused the roll-out of the update, patched the app, uploaded it and started another phased roll-out.

Question: when I started this new phased roll-out on top of a partially completed roll-out, do the same users get the new phased roll-out?

e.g. if 10% of users get v8.0, and then v8.1 starts phased roll-out, do the same 10% get 8.1 or will the 8.0 users potentially stick around until 8.1 gets to 100%?

The 8.0 users should get an update that there's an 8.1 update available as soon as it comes out.

I have the same question and dont think that chuckc192000 addressed if fully, although I appreciate his answer!

The phased release process affects the 'auto-updates' for a certain percentage of the users. Does it also affect the notification of updates?

In other words, does only a small percentage of people get notified that there is an update? I know that any user can update the app manually if they wish to.

In the scenario above, do the people who installed 8.0 automatically get included in the percentage of people that are "auto-updated" to the 8.1 release???

Thanks,

Gary

Any clue how it works?

Same users when updating in the middle of phased release?
