Wasn't able to type a message after pasting that. Anyone else having the issue above? Mac Mail constantly crashes with the issue above. I can use it for about 1 to 30 minutes before it crashes again. Beyond that it works just fine.

Have multiple Exchange accounts, Gmail, MSN/Hotmail.

I can't even get it to open now.

I just did this and got mail to work again.

Step 2: Reindex

Manual reindexing of Mail messages is the only way to go if the application has become so unresponsive it barely works at all, search is not functioning correctly or the app won't launch.

Mail will automatically attempt to reindex your messages if it detects problems with the mailboxes, but sometimes a manual reindex is the best option. If you are still having problems with Mail after following step one, try manual reindexing.

Quit Mail if it’s open.

To get to your home Library folder, hold down the Option key, then in the Finder choose Go > Library.

In ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData, delete any file that begins with “Envelope Index,” such as Envelope Index or Envelope Index-shm. (Before you actually delete the files, it makes sense to copy them to a folder on your desktop.)

Launch Mail and the app will build new Envelope Index files -- this can take a long time if there are numerous messages to go through.

If everything seems to be working correctly, you can now delete the copies of the "Envelope Index" files from your desktop.

In most cases, these two tips should solve most Mail problems -- I hope they help resolve yours.

~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData I Think it's in the V3 folder now

~/Library/Mail/V3/MailData

I deleted those Evenelop files and it seems to have re-downloaded all my emails. And now the V3 folders are double the size of what they should be. I'm considering just wiping on the V2 and V3 folders and starting over with Mail. Thoughts?

1) Quit Mail

2) Go to ~/Library/Mail/ and remove the "Envelope index" file

-Is the issue resolved? If not, open the mail activity window and if appears genuinely stuck, quit or force quit mail.

3) If the issue persists after step 1 and 2, go to ~/Library/Mail/ and look inside the V2 or V3 folder for further "Envelope Index" files and remove them

4) relaunch Mail

Wait for Mail to reindex your messages after step 2 or 4

Yes I tried this multiple times (Removing the Envelope Index files) and what I see is that the Mail will start to index and then will still crash with the folllowing:

Try this. Close Mail if it's open. Open open up system preferences and go into Internet accounts. Uncheck mail for each account you have in there. Go back in and remove all of the Envelope Index files. You should now be able to open Mail with no accounts in there. Now just go into accounts and enable Mail in each of your internet accounts and they should pop right back up. They will have to redownload the messages, but you should have all of your stuff in there.

Try opening after removing the exchange accounts.

There's already a thread on this..

Thanks but I've tried that about 5 times and no differnce.

I unchecked all mail accounts, deleted everything in my Mail folder. Rebooted and only configurd my Exchange account. As soon as it was around 95% sync'd it strated crashing again with this same error. It is sporratic, happening about 5-10 times per hour, dependin on how much you use Mail. This also just started with the latest builds of Beta. I wonder if they know about it?

Known Issues

Mail may exit unexpectedly when checking for new messages on an Exchange 2010 account

I agree, the only thing is that I'm on an Excahnge 2013 server, not 2010. Likely still applies though.

I have only iCloud, Gmail and OSX Server account.. and no Exchange server connection, but i have the same problem.
