10.11 public beta (b3) hanging on install

So the public beta opened up today so I though I'd give it a try! However for about an hour or so, my 2014 macbook air has been attempting to install 10.11 (I asssume the public beta is b3). The file downloaded just fine, however, the install process has yet to complete. The bar stopped moving at around 90% at which point it said it had 10 minutes left. Now there isn't a time on the screen and has just been sitting for about 45-60 minutes.

Is this normal and if so, should I let it sit for another hour? What are my options?

PB1 has build number 15A215h and DP3 has build number 15A216g. So they are not the same.

It's not so unusual. Just force a power down. There's a very good chance it will then boot up into B3 as hoped for.

Based on past experience it's gotten stuck trying to resolve your Apple ID account with the Apple servers. You should be able to set up properly once you reboot though.

I waited and it eventually came back with the time and counted down from 10 minutes. When it looked like the install had hung I pressed a bunch of keys on the keyboard and heard the error tone (like keystroke was not accepted sound). My external hard drive that I use for time machine had its r/w indicator light blinking as well. This led me to believe that the install was actually not hung. A little while later my second monitor woke up and the time on the progress bar showed up again with 10 minutes left and the text 'competing installation.' 10 minutes later I was prompted with the login screen and was able to log in (took a while for the first login to complete as well). When I found this thread I was going to force restart but I'm glad I didn't. Whole update to public beta lasted almost exactly two (2) hours from when I kicked it off. Be patient my friends...
