disabling join.me launcher - high CPU utilization

installed beta 10.11 15A215h this afternoon.

But join.me launcher is taking over 58% CPU utilization consistently, and the fan won't shut off. even after uninstall. Force quitting the process in Activity Monitor doesn't help, as it comes right back. Anyone know how to perm remove join.me launcher?

Hey bdpeter. I just encountered the same issue and fixed it just now.

You have to go into: library -> Application Support -> join.me

Then, move that folder to the trash to fully uninstall the join.me Launcher. My cpu usage has dropped from ~60% from join.me back down to normal levels.

Cheers

Thanks jimmypod

I don't even have that folder 😟

There are a few other threads around about high CPU usage, all with a different process being blamed.

I hpe beta 4 fixes some of these issues!

Had the same issue

"library -> Application Support -> join.me" is hidden by default.

Check this out to learn how to make all files and folders visible on your mac: http://ianlunn.co.uk/articles/quickly-showhide-hidden-files-mac-os-x-mavericks/

Go in and delete all join.me folders and fan should stop, then go into activity monitor and delete process. Restart, and fan should stop.

This worked for me.

Bdpeter, The library folder is hidden by default. To view it, go into your root folder (your name folder), select view options, and check 'show library folder'. Then follow my first post. It'll be a fix that's worth it! I had your exact problem and it's fixed for me

Thank you

after getting rid of join.me launcher, my computer is MUCH better now and running cooler too

It gets put back every time you open the application. I've tried removing it from launchd too, but it always comes back. We need to complain to join.me about this nonsense.

I was able to unhide my library folder, but didn't find any Join.Me files in the appication support folder. Grr. I'm still getting the popup every time I open my calendar even though I've deleted the join.me program itself.
