I wrote to Box about this after installing B1 - they said they 'dont support beta software'. Given the multitude of developers and now the zillions of public using the beta of El Capitan I think Box are doing exactly what Dropbox et al would choose!

Not supporting beta software sounds very noble but it is a strategic mistake (not a tactical mistake) to avoid releasign a fixec version. I use Box forlots of stuff and now am considerign mving to Dropbox to maintina my workflow...

cheers

Box broke for me as well with the same errors. Guess I will be using the web interface unitl Box get with the program.

My Box is not working either -- just installed El Capitan this morning. I remember that Box did work from the beginning when I installed the Yosemite beta. Of course, that was a different beta :-) Too bad ... I hope they can catch up considering the production version of El Capitan is coming around the corner. Guess I'll be using Dropbox even more ;-)

just updated to the latest El Cap beta (10.11 15a215h) and Box is still pear-shaped 😟

Just updated to today's beta: OS X 10.11 El Capitan Beta Six and same problems.

Actually found this thread because I wanted to make sure it wasn't just my machine that Box Sync wasn't working on.

I've been using DropBox during the meantime and maxed it out, if I cave and send them more money for more space, I'm probably not going back to Box. Although as a result, I've cleaned up my DropBox in the last few weeks, so that's a good thing...

It's a bit of work but you could downgrade until support is updated or until the next Beta and then restore and retest. Otherwise if you have a Time Machine backup of beta 5 just rollback.

  1. If Beta 5 works then just use Cmd-R during a reboot and choose Reinstall...
  2. Doing so will take you back to the initial Beta of 10.11
  3. Then you would need to keep updating from Beta 1 - Beta 5
  4. If possible do a Time Machine when you get to a good working state
  5. Wait for the next beta or release

There is a nice workaround that solfs the problem plus mprove your workflow:

It's a startup from austria which integrates all clouds to one. So your box.com-cloud will be sync to your mac over crosscloud. Aditional to that you can integrate other clouds to one storage on your computer, which is perfect when you cooperate to diferent people over different clouds.

Nice idea, but it seems like CrossCloud currently doesn't support box.com. From their FAQ:

Which cloud storage services are supported by CrossCloud?

The current beta version of CrossCloud supports Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, OwnCloud and other WebDAV accounts. A service you want to use is not there? Please send us the name of the provider so we can look into it.

My company is actually in the midst of deploying Box, and our understanding is that it's an issue of Box's security certificate not being strong enough. We are told Box is working on updating the certificate, but that it's a non-trivial issue.

Downloading the latest software update directly from Box (4.0.6567) fixed it for me. 🙂

My test machine still has the Box terminate error. It was updated with updat beta 1 to beta 7.

I tried another machine with 10.10.5

Downloaded the new version 7 beta: new redeem code gives a new version that makes it possible to update to beta 7 in one install.

Box running flawlessly: no errors. Syncing as it should.

Box is no longer working...
