Hi,
I might have missed something somewhere, but pretty sure I haven't.
I want to set up a USB-C to Ethernet adaptor to use Jumbo Frames (ie MTU = 9000) so I can improve the performance of my backups.
I have a LATE 2012 iMac that is running High Sierra 10.13.2 (17C85a) and in the System Preferences/Networking/Advanced/Hardware I can set up a 9000 MTU.
I also have a 2017 MacBook Pro running High Sierra 10.13.1 (production version). On this machine I cannot configure the ethernet to use Jumbo Frames. I have a Belkin USB-C to Ethernet adaptor (procured with Mac from Apple). Neither the WiFi or Ethernet are able to have their MTU set higher than 1500.
I have tried using networksetup in Terminal, and it won't let me go beyond 1500.
Are MacBooks limited in their ability to set Jumbo Frames?
Any ideas?
