Exchange External/Internal URL

Does anyone know what that is? I had my Exchange account setup in Yosemite Mail. When setting up, it would ask me for my email/password/username and server address. Now it asks for external/internal URL, what are these?

They depend on the way your email is configured. Can you snapshot what you are seeing? The servers are liekly mail.somedomain.com and the URL is likely /EWS/Exchange.asmx

I ttroied all the variations given on line and none worked. Eventually I tried outlook.domainofhoster.net and this worked...

hope this helps

The internal URL is used if you are on the internal exchange network at your organization - using the same network.

This info varies depending on what the internal mapping is - as simple as domainname.com(or net/org or whatever) to a complex string with a .local at the end.

This you probably need to get from onsite IT

The External URL is https://xxx.domainhost.com(or org/net/etc)/ews/exchange.asmx

The xxx above can be whatever the server prefix is such as owa, email, mail, etc.

In one exchange account, the ews didn't work and used owa instead.

Hope this helps.

btw, before I did this, I deleted the exchange accounts in system preferences and deleted the info in /library/mail (all the bundle and V2 & V3 files) you shouldn't lose anything with this - the data will just be redownloaded from the servers.

I also deleted the library/containers/com.apple.mail folder.
